Continuing on the Journey to Becoming Yeast-Free

Beautiful day here in Orlando, FL.  Just took a walk to the mailbox with my collie, Abbey.  She is nine years-old now.  Seems like yesterday she was a puppy!

I was also able to attend my Weight Watchers meeting this morning. I lost 0.4 of a pound!  Yippee!  So far I have lost 17.6 pounds since I began WW on December 29th.  I've lost a total of 22.9 pounds since my leg massages began.  Yeast-free living is really working for me!

Getting back to my journey....the literature my ENT gave me concerning "mold"containing foods was the beginning of my quest to find out more about Candida allergy.  If you are like me and you read that you can no longer have "cheese of any kind, including cottage cheese"' that is a hard pill to swallow.  Then I read further and saw the line, "no sour cream, sour milk, buttermilk, and yogurt". Being on Weight Watchers, I had already begun to make life changes with food, such as low-fat sour cream, skim milk, low-fat cheese, and low-fat yogurt, but to see "no cheese or milk" written was shocking.  My first concern was how to fulfill my calcium needs.

So, with a little bit of research, I found I could have soy, almond, rice, and coconut milk.  Thank goodness!  This is my "go to" almond milk now:

It has more calcium than skim milk!  It tastes great, too!  I have tried the original unsweetened, but I really like the vanilla unsweetened almond milk.  Don't be afraid to try new things.  Just go for it, and you will feel better, too!

Have a Super Saturday!

  1. I also drink Almond milk but not that brand. Mine has vanilla in it and is not sweetenend. I had a really hard time finding any milk I could drink without making my own. Now, there are many companies jumping on the bandwagon of no sugar... Makes me happy!!!
