The Look Fab in Leggings Breakfast!

When I reviewed Leslie Blodgett’s book Pretty Good Advice, I mentioned a breakfast recipe.  Leslie calls it The Look Fab in Leggings Breakfast. She said that the recipe was inspired by a recipe she found in a hard-core bodybuilder magazine. I have been eating “Look Fab” for several days, and it is delicious! It also keeps me full until lunchtime!

The Look Fab in Leggings Breakfast

Ingredients:
  • 1/8 cup of oatmeal (Microwaveable only)
  • A little bit of peanut butter (could use almond butter)
  • 1/2 of a banana, thinly sliced
  • Many, many shakes of cinnamon
  • 1 egg white (Author’s Note: Don’t get weirded out by the egg thing. Think about oatmeal cookies.) Also, I use liquid egg whites.
  • 1/4 cup of water
Instructions:
  1. Place all ingredients in a microwaveable bowl.
  2. Place cling wrap over the bowl.
  3. Heat for 1 minute and 10 seconds (or longer, if needed.)
  4. Stir with a spoon

The original recipe’s purpose was to create a breakfast that would keep you full until lunchtime and promote lean body mass. It contains ingredients such as the egg (protein), oats (fiber), and cinnamon (which curbs appetite.) The author added the banana. Sometimes she adds golden raisins to the recipe, but no more than five. Ms. Blodgett said that serving size was extremely important in the recipe. So when it says 1/8 cup of oats, just measure 1/8 cup! My sister and I emptied all of our microwaveable packages of oatmeal into a container. We even bought a 1/8 measuring cup, because I didn’t have one! So now we have the perfect Look Fab in Leggings Breakfast ready to go each morning! I hope you will try this breakfast. But, be forewarned—you will probably want it every morning!! Enjoy!!
