Published in 2020, The Switch is Beth O’Leary’s second novel. I read and reviewed her first novel, Flatshare, which I really loved, so I was excited to read The Switch.
The Switch is such a heartwarming book. Seventy-nine-year-old Eileen and her granddaughter, Leena, are both going through issues in their everyday life. They decide to switch homes for two months to have a change of pace. So, Leena goes to the English countryside and Grandma Eileen goes to London. While the results are often hilarious, the switch often proves to be more than the two can handle at times.
I highly recommend this humorous romance novel. I listened to the audiobook, and it was very well-done.
