Book Review—Eternal by Lisa Scottoline

Eternal by Lisa Scottoline is an epic novel set in Rome during WW II. The storyline actually starts pre-war and focuses on the friendship between main characters Elisabetta, Marco and Sandro. This historical fiction novel is a story of love, loss, betrayal and family. It gives a real look at Mussolini’s emerging power as anti-Semitism takes hold in Italy. I listened to the audiobook
and although it is rather long (19 hours), it is very well done. The book is 480 pages.

Eternal is beautifully written. Lisa Scottoline has written a saga that immerses you into life in Italy during wartime and a love triangle that you won’t forget. The book is a true labor of love from the author.  I highly recommend Eternal by Lisa Scottoline.
