Book Review—The Invisible Husband of Frick Island by Colleen Oakley

If there is a theme this summer, it has to be novels set on islands! Meet Me in Paradise is set on the Island of Saba, The Islanders’s setting is on Block Island, and Colleen Oakley’s novel is set on the fictitious Frick Island. And, there are more island novels to come!

The Invisible Husband of Frick Island by Colleen Oakley concerns a young widow, Piper Parrish. Her husband, Tom, died in a boating accident and his body wasn’t recovered. In her grief, Piper goes on with her life as if Tom is still alive. The townsfolk go along with Piper, even when a journalist, Anders Caldwell, comes to town to cover Frick Island’s annual Cake Walk.

This is a delightful story. I enjoyed the characters, especially Piper and Anders. This book is full of happiness and hope. I highly recommend this heartwarming book.
