Book Review—The Islanders by Meg Mitchell Moore

The Islanders by Meg Mitchell Moore is a great summer novel. Published in June, 2019, it was recommended by Ashley Spivey of Spivey’s Book Club

Set on Block Island (think Showtime’s The Affair) The Islanders focuses on the secrets the main characters, Anthony, Joy, and Lu, are keeping. Anthony recently comes to Block Island as a disgraced writer. Joy, a single mom, has been on Block Island for years. She runs the popular Whoopie Pie Café. Lu is on Block Island raising her two children for the summer while her surgeon husband commutes back and forth from the mainland. The three end up meeting and the novel progresses from there. The characters are brought to life by author Meg Mitchell Moore, making them relatable to the reader. I enjoyed this book so much. There was a lot of suspense, food, cooking, blogging and conversation about books and authors, which I loved.

This is the first Meg Mitchell Moore novel I have read, and it won’t be the last.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Here are two of Meg Mitchell Moore’s many books that I’d like to read:

The Captain’s Daughter, published in 2017

Two Truths and a Lie, published in 2020
