Book Review—The Bookshop of Second Chances by Jackie Fraser

The Bookshop of Second Chances by Jackie Fraser is a lovely novel. This is the story of Thea Mottram, who is going through a rough patch in life. Her husband has left her for her friend, and she has also lost her job. However, she has just inherited a home from her great uncle. The home is located in a small coastal Scottish village, and it also contains an antique book collection. Thea slowly begins to love her new home and village, except for the gruff owner of the local bookshop.

Thea in an endearing, quick-witted character. There is much depth to her, and I loved the fact that the author chose to make Thea a mature, over-30 woman, who shows much grace when beginning her life again. The book is well-written, and the descriptions of Scotland may make one want to plan a trip there as soon as possible. Highly recommend!
