The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling is a Halloween romance that is sweet with just the right amount of scary. Actually, the novel can be read at any time of the year. Main character Vivi, a witch that doesn’t practice much magic, puts a hex on her ex, Rhys. She is only 19 at the time, and finds out nine years later that Rhys is experiencing difficulties with his magic because of the hex. The book is full of magic, spells, as well as curses, and the main characters, Vivi and Rhys, are especially endearing as they navigate their way through the hex and getting reacquainted. The supporting characters in the book, especially Vivi’s cousin, Gwyn and her Aunt Elaine, add humor and fun to the novel.
The Ex Hex is a light-hearted book that will give the reader all of the feelings of autumn, as well as a cute and steamy romance. The author has a sequel set in the same town, Glen Graves, scheduled for release in 2022 that will feature Vivi and Rhys.
