Book Review—The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

“After a certain age, you can pretty much do whatever takes your fancy. No one tells you off, except your doctors and your children.”

                                         —Richard Osman

Richard Osman, an English television producer and director, has written a witty crime fiction novel. Four septuagenarians form The Thursday Murder Club at their retirement center to try to solve unsolved crimes. When there is an actual murder in their town of Coopers Chase, they decide to try to solve the crime, along with Donna, a young female policewoman.

There is so much I enjoyed about this book. I loved the way Osman portrayed the members of The Thursday Murder Club. All of the members had varied careers in the past that helped them with their crime solving. They are vibrant, active septuagenarians who use their brain power every day. They also have great senses of humor.

The Thursday Murder Club contains all of the elements of a suspenseful crime novel. There are many suspects, red-herrings, and intrigue. It was a fun read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Note: Steven Spielberg bought the film rights to The Thursday Murder Club.

Also available now is The Man Who Died Twice, the 2nd novel in the Thursday Murder Club series.

Coming in Autumn 2022 will be book 3. There is no title yet.
