Today I am writing about two days of Advent, 11 & 12. So yesterday’s jam was actually a cute little jar of Honey! Today’s jam flavor, Day 12, is Cherry-Elderflower spread.
My sister decided to make Belgian waffles this morning from our mother’s recipe in the Meta Givens Modern Encyclopedia of Cooking (first published in 1942). They were delicious and such a flashback in time to our childhood. I spread the Cherry-Elderflower jam on the waffle and then drizzled honey over the top. Perfection!! Yes, it is indulgent, but how often do you have fluffy homemade waffles with tasty jam and honey? This was the perfect way to begin a Sunday.
