I just loved this book! Love Your Life by Sophie Kinsella is such a humorous romance. Main character Ava has a great group of girlfriends. Some are single and using dating apps to try to find a boyfriend. But, Ava wants to meet someone in the real world. Having many interests, Ava signs up for a writing retreat in Italy. Everyone on the retreat is asked to use a fake name and not talk about their occupation in the outside world so they can focus on their writing. Ava, now Aria, meets Dutch at the retreat. They follow the rules and decide to see each other after the retreat. However, once outside of Italy they realize they have very different lives, including the real love of Ava’s life, her beagle, Harold.
This novel is well-written, and parts of it are just hilarious. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator, Fiona Hardingham, is outstanding.
I highly recommend Love Your Life by Sophie Kinsella if you want to start the new year with an upbeat, funny romance.
