The Just Girl Project—Book of Self-Care by Ilana Harkavy

I saw an illustration from The Just Girl Project—Book of Self-Care come across my Instagram feed. It was the illustration in the second photo about “How to stop saying “sorry” (when you don’t really need to).” Even at my mature age, I struggle with that at times. I definitely did when I was younger. The illustration intrigued me and I went to Just Girl Project Instagram page. The author, Ilana Harkavy, has quite a presence on social media. Her page has post after post of beautifully illustrated helpful tips for women to navigate their lives. The book was illustrated by Erica Lewis and much of the Just Girl Project’s Instagram page uses her art. I was so inspired by the Instagram page that I ordered The Just Girl Project Book of Self-Care.

The book’s purpose is to inspire and motivate women and to help them overcome issues that affect their mental health, body image, friendships, relationships. I wish I had a book like this to read in my late teens and twenties. And, like I previously mentioned, I’m learning a lot about life reading it right now at my age. I was really impressed with this book and what The Just Girl Project is accomplishing with their positive messages. I highly recommend this book!
