Book Review—Left on Tenth by Delia Ephron

I was able to catch Delia Ephron on Good Morning America talking about her new memoir, Left on Tenth. She was so profoundly happy and bubbly, I knew I had to read her book. Delia, as you may or may not know, is the daughter of screenwriters Phoebe and Henry Ephron. They had four daughters: Delia, Nora, Amy, and Hallie. Nora is probably the most famous having been nominated three times for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Silkwood, When Harry Met Sally, and Sleepless in Seattle. Delia is a journalist, author, and screenwriter, among a list of other accomplishments. She wrote the screenplays for You’ve Got Mail and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The other sisters are also writers.

Delia Ephron’s message in this book is to always have hope. Delia’s journey has the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. In all of it, she surrounds herself with the love of family and lifelong friends. Parts of the book are difficult to read, but Delia has the reader rooting for her at her most challenging times.

So be hopeful during all of life’s challenges and enjoy your life, just like Delia Ephron is today!
