I am late to the party reading Love & Other Words by the duo of Christina Lauren. But, because I waited to read this gem, I was able to purchase the paperback with this beautiful new cover!
A few weeks ago, someone on a Facebook page I follow asked if there were any books that were similar to the lifelong love story of Kevin and Sophie from This is Us. Several people answered Love & Other Words. So, I thought it was time to read this book.
The story of Macy Sorenson and Elliot Petropoulos begins when Macy’s father purchases a weekend/summer home next door to Elliot’s family in Healdsburg, California. They begin a friendship that consists of reading books and just being teenagers. The book has an alternating timeline between their life as teenagers and present day, which is 15 years later.
This is such a sweet love story. It is beautifully written, and it is so easy to become invested in Macy and Elliot’s story. If you haven’t read Love & Other Words, there is no better time to read this book. Pick up a copy and put it first on your TBR list. You won’t regret it a bit!
