Book Review—The Newcomer by Mary Kay Andrews

The Newcomer by Mary Kay Andrews was published in May of 2021. It is the fourth book I have read by the author. The Newcomer is a suspenseful romance set on the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Main character Letty Carnahan is running from the law after her sister is murdered. She has her niece, Maya,  with her when she stops at the The Murmuring Surf Motel, hoping she would not be discovered. Letty eventually befriends the owner of  “The Surf” (the motel’s nickname) and her son, Joe.

I enjoyed this book, in part, because I often vacation in the area of Treasure Island. The only real drawback I had about the book was its length. To me, it was just too long. Overall, The Newcomer was an enjoyable read, and I already have Ms. Andrews new book, The Homewreckers, in my home library ready to read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Other books I have read by Mary Kay Andrews are:

The Santa Suit (my review is linked)

Sunset Beach (my review is linked)
