I loved The Summer Place by Jennifer Weiner. Published in May, 2022, this book is full of drama and family secrets. Sarah and Eli have been married for years. During the pandemic, Ruby, Sarah’s step-daughter, brings home her college boyfriend, Gabe, to stay with them. Shortly thereafter, Ruby and Gabe announce their engagement.
There is much backstory to each character in this novel. Besides the four characters I have mentioned, Sarah’s mother and twin brother are central to the book, as well as Ruby’s mother. Weiner has written a well-thought-out novel with some shocking secrets. All of the characters are well-developed characters and the plot is engaging.
I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Younger star, Sutton Foster. She is an outstanding narrator!
I hope you enjoy The Summer Place as much as I did!
