Book Review—Every Summer After by Carley Fortune

Ok, let's try this again! Somehow half of my review was missing from what I published this morning. So, here is the full review!!

Every Summer After by Carley Fortune is one the best books I read this year. Published in May, it is Ms. Fortune's debut novel. It was also on the New York Times Best Sellers list.

The book is the love story of Percy and Sam. They met at 13-years-of-age when Percy's family bought a summer home next to Sam's family home in rural Barry's Bay outside of Ontario. The novel spans their inseparable six summers and holidays together. That is, until an event shatters their deepening love story.

Ms. Fortune tells this story in such a masterful way. As a reader, you feel all of the emotions of a coming-of-age love. The characters of Percy and Sam are endearing. The timeline of alternating the six summers with the present day (12 years later called "Now") was genius. This is a book you cannot stop reading. I loved it, and it earned every one of these 5 stars!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
