Book Reviews—How the Light Gets In and The Long Way Home by Louise Penny

How the Light Gets In by Louise Penny is the 9th book in the Chief Inspector Armand Gamache series. It is one of my favorites in the series. This book is set during the approaching Christmas season, so it would be a great December read. Armand Gamache’s team of agents have left or have been transferred from him. When Gamache’s friend, Myrna, tells him that a friend of hers did not show up to their planned Christmas visit, Armand sets out to find her.

With everything around Gamache in a flux, he still remains true to his core values. He follows the light, instead of the darkness around him.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Long Way Home by Louise Penny is the tenth book in the Chief Inspector Armand Gamache series. It is the first book in which Gamache is retired and enjoying life in Three Pines with his beloved wife, Reine-Marie. However, did anyone really think Armand could stay retired for very long? Working as a civilian, Gamache helps to solve a mystery concerning the reoccurring characters of Peter and Clara Morrow. This book has artistic themes and the cover itself is very telling.
