Book Review—Vacationland by Meg Mitchell Moore

Vacationland by Meg Mitchell Moore is one of the most enjoyable books I read this summer. Set in Penobscot Bay, Maine, main character Louisa decides to spend the summer at her parents’ house with her three children. She is behind in finishing a book and just knows the fresh Maine air will invigorate her to complete her task. (Ha!) Louisa’s husband is staying back in their Brooklyn home to work on a startup. There are many endearing parts of this novel, but I really enjoyed the characters of of Louisa’s three children, Matthew (Matty), Abigail, and Claire. Matty has his first crush, Abigail writes hysterical letters to her dad, and Claire has spunk. Of course there are also family secrets to discover, too.

I highly recommend Vacationland by Meg Mitchell Moore.
