Book Reviews—Forever, Interrupted and After I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I recently read Forever, Interrupted, Taylor Jenkins Reid’s debut novel and her second novel, After I Do. Both are contemporary romances. I listened to the audiobook version of each novel, both wonderfully narrated by Tara Sands.

Forever, Interrupted—Elsie Porter has her “forever interrupted” and becomes a widow in her 20’s. This novel focuses on the backstory of Elsie and Ben Ross, as well as Elsie’s struggle to become whole again.

After I Do—Lauren and Ryan are having marital issues. They decide to take a year apart with no communication. After the year is over, they will decide whether or not to proceed with their marriage. The novel focuses on the growth each experience during their year apart.

Note: I’m glad I read Taylor Jenkins Reid’s earliest novels (Forever, Interrupted—2013 & After I Do—2014). Her novels continue to get better and better each year!
