Book Review—Glass Houses by Louise Penny

Glass Houses by Louise Penny is the 13th book in the Chief Inspector Armand Gamache series. I enjoyed this installment because the author began the story with Chief Superintendent Gamache on the witness stand during a murder trial. Beginning the novel at the end is a departure for the author, and it worked. This novel deals with a mysterious figure that visits the quiet village of Three Pines. It also shows the reader a different side of Gamache that deals with his conscience. There is still time for a croissant and coffee at the bistro, amidst all of the chaos. I listened to the audiobook, and I am really enjoying the narration by Robert Bathurst. In my opinion, lucky 13 is one of her best novels yet.
