Book Review—Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan

Wow! What a great novel! Mad Honey is currently #4 on the New York Times Best Sellers list for Hardcover Fiction. Jodi Picoult, along with co-author Jennifer Finney Boylan, draw the reader into the world of Olivia McAfee. After her marriage ends, Olivia returns home to New Hampshire with her beloved son, Asher. There, Olivia takes over her father’s beekeeping business. Beekeeping and honey are Olivia’s lifeline to starting a new, quiet life with her son. Asher is in high school and meets Lily, who has just moved to the area with her mother. All is going well until a huge event happens followed by a twist I never saw coming.

The characters in Mad Honey are captivating and the book is beautifully written by the co-authors. I thoroughly enjoy Mad Honey, and it was a perfect choice to read to begin 2023.

P.S. I loved the quote by Soren Kierkegaard the authors use in the preface:

“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.”
