The long-awaited second novel by Julia Whelan, author of the wildly-read My Oxford Year, is here! Thank You for Listening was published in August, 2022. Julia Whelan is also one of the best narrators of audiobooks in the country. It is fitting that in her new novel, main character Sewanee Chester is an audiobook narrator. It is said to write about what you know, and Ms. Whelan did just that.
This novel is full of friendships, chance meetings, romance and of course, audiobooks. I love the way the author used emails and texts for much of the communication between Sewanee and her audiobook partner. I can’t tell you too much more about the book without giving away major plot points. If you enjoyed My Oxford Year, I’m sure you will also enjoy Thank You for Listening.
