I Have Some Questions For You by Rebecca Makkai is classified as literary fiction, but it is a mystery, too. Main character Bodie Kane is a crime podcaster, as well as a film professor. When her boarding school asks her to teach a summer film course, Bodie’s life comes face-to-face with a tragedy that occurred when she was in school. Pay attention to the narrator and who is addressed in the novel; this was genius on the author’s part. There are also many social issues that are brought up in this book, especially as the characters reflect back upon their boarding school years. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Julia Whelan, and she did an excellent job.
