May Reading Wrap-Up

Due to my vacation to North Carolina, I’m a bit late in posting my May Reading. I truly loved all of the books I read this month.

I read three historical fiction novels:

The House is on Fire by Rachel Beanland—This novel follows four characters during the devastating fire at a Richmond, Virginia playhouse in 1811.

Hang the Moon by Jeannette Walls—Sallie Kincaid is a force to be reckoned with in this novel set during Prohibition.

The Trackers by Charles Frazier—Set during the Great Depression, Val Welch gets a New Deal assignment to paint a mural in the small town of Dawes, Wyoming.

I read two romances in May:

Happy Place by Emily Henry—This novel is sure to be one of the major hits of the summer!!

The Sweet Spot by Amy Poeppel—Oh my gosh! The Sweet Spot will make you laugh outloud at the mayham that surrounds Miranda’s life.

Literary Fiction:

Saturday Night at the Lakeside Supper Club by J. Ryan Stradal—Set in rural Minnesota, the Lakeside Supper Club has seen better days. (Think relish trays and Old Fashioneds) Can Mariel save the family restaurant?

Full reviews will be forthcoming.

What are you reading this month?

I’m finishing Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner, and I just started You Should Have Known (also known as The Undoing) by Jean Hanff Korelitz.

Happy Reading!
