I loved The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner, which I read in 2021. Her new book, The Amalfi Curse intrigued me because, again, the author masterfully mixes fiction with elements of fantasy.
Main character Haven Ambrose is a nautical archaeologist who comes to Positano to investigate old shipwrecks. What she doesn’t reveal is that her father, on his last dive before his death, mentioned seeing gemstones in an old shipwreck located in the area.
This book has all of the elements of a great story: betrayal, love, a treasure hunt, mysterious happenings on the Amalfi Coast, and the magic from an old tale that Ambrose stumbles upon during her research.
I enjoyed this book!
