October 2024 Reading

Can’t believe it is November 1st! I had a lot of Trick or Treaters last night. Milo is tired today after all of the ringing doorbells and knocks on the door. He did come to the door a few times to check over things. He was able to get some pets from the kids and even followed one group out the door. It was a fun night!

I started the month reading Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson. He writes great thrillers. This one is about a bookseller who becomes the subject of an F.B.I. investigation over a blog post he made many years prior. It really kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. If you haven’t read anything by Peter Swanson, read The Kind Worth Killing first. You will become a fan!

Worst Case Scenario by T. J. Newman is a thriller/mystery. Newman’s books are action-packed and always involve an airplane. Much research went into writing this book, and it was suspenseful to the end.

The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine is a continuation of The Last Mrs. Parrish which was published in 2017. Amber, Daphne and Jackson are back along with Daisy Ann, a new character. This sequel is well-written and is an exciting read.

Tell Me Everything is the fifth book in tbe Amgash series by Elizabeth Stout. I love this series so much. The book is set in Maine with a cast of characters including Lucy Barton, Olive Kitteridge and Bob Burgess. Elizabeth Stout writes with such insight about life. If you decide to read the series, begin with My Name is Lucy Barton. She also wrote the Pulitzer Prize winning Olive Kitteridge.

I loved The Sweetest Revenge by Lizzy Dent. It is the third book I read by the author. This book is set mainly in London where main character, Amy Duffy, is trying to make a fresh start.

So, in November I want to read The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose and Intermezzo by Sally Rooney. I’ll probably start making a holiday list of reading, too. Happy Reading!!
