Book Review—The Blue Hour by Paula Hawkins

The Blue Hour by Paula Hawkins is the first book I read in 2025. It is set on Eris, a Scottish island with only one home, one resident, and only one way out. The Blue Hour features Vanessa Chapman, a deceased artist, whose unfaithful husband disappeared 20 years ago. When a shocking discovery was made on a piece of Vanessa’s work, an investigation is started.

This novel touches on the themes of betrayal, legacy, obsession, love and friendship. It is a thriller with  many twists and turns. That being said, the ending, in my opinion, was a bit disappointing.

The Girl on the Train remains my favorite novel by Paula Hawkins. If you, enjoy thrillers, you will enjoy The Blue Hour.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Also, I purchased this book at the new Barnes & Noble in the Waterford Lakes Town Center. Our community is so thrilled to have a Barnes & Noble return!!
