I enjoyed all of the books I read in May. My favorite was The Things We Never Say by Elizabeth’s Strout. This time Ms. Strout branches away from Olive Kitteridge and Lucy Barton to a new character, Artie Dam. Artie is an 11th grade history teacher, and is the kind of teacher you want your children to experience. Artie’s life becomes complicated with some shattering news. He becomes quite lonely, even though he is around family and friends. If you are a teacher or a retired one like me, you will love this book.
