Bread on a Yeast-Free Diet? Yes!!

I have been on a crusade to find a yeast-free bread.  I follow Julian's Bakery http://www.julianbakery.com/ on Facebook and Twitter.  A few weeks ago they were advertising their new Paleo Breads, a coconut bread and an almond bread.  I read the ingredients and found out they are both yeast-free!  They also have a carb zero sandwich bread and cinnamon bread that are  yeast-free.

I bought the two Paleo Breads (coconut and almond) at Chamberlin's Natural Foods in Winter Park, Florida.

The loaves of bread are frozen and can be kept in your freezer for 4+ months, according to Julian's website.

I found both of the breads to be tasty.  I toasted both breads, and I put butter on the coconut bread for my breakfast.  I made an egg white omelet this morning with Daiya mozzarella cheese and asparagus.  It was delicious!

For lunch I had a sandwich!  How exciting to be able to eat a sandwich!  I made a chicken sandwich using the toasted almond bread, rotisserie chicken breast, organic greens and Vegenaise.  Vegenaise is a vegan mayonnaise that can be used on a yeast-free diet.  http://followyourheart.com/products/original-3/

I also had a fruit salad with organic strawberries, blueberries and blackberries.  I topped the fruit with Stoneyfield Organic Plain Low-Fat Yogurt http://www.stonyfield.com/ and a sprinkle of cinnamon.  From everything I have read, plain yogurt is acceptable to eat on a yeast-free diet because of the good bacteria it contains.

By the way, some of you may have noticed that I had coffee for breakfast.  That is the one "cheat" I allow myself.  I have been buying an organic coffee, Java Love, made by the Organic Coffee Co. http://www.organiccoffeecompany.com/

I use Silk Soymilk Creamer. http://silk.com/ The creamer is lactose, dairy, gluten, egg, casein, peanut and MSG-free.  It comes in three flavors:  Original, French Vanilla, and Hazelnut.  The creamers do contain a bit of cane sugar. The Original has less than a gram of sugar.  Like I said, it is my one "cheat".

I hope I have given you some yeast-free options you can use today.  If anyone has suggestions as to coffee or creamer alternatives you have found, let me know.  I welcome any comments you might have.

Have a beautiful Saturday!

  1. I buy a millet bread that is yeast and sugar free and tastes very good. In fact, my Hubs eats it when he runs out of his bread.
