Book Review—Not Like the Movies by Kerry Winfrey

I loved the romantic comedy Not Like the Movies by Kerry Winfrey.  It is the companion book to Kerry Winfrey’s debut novel, Waiting for Tom Hanks, which I also adored.  This book focuses on the character Chloe Sanderson, who is a barista at Nick’s Coffeehouse.  She has so much going on in her life and  doesn’t have time for love.  However, her best friend, Annie, just wrote a romantic comedy that is about to premier as a movie.  The characters in the movie are based on Chloe and Nick, her handsome boss at the coffee shop.  The whole situation is exasperating for both of them, or is it?  You will have to read the book for yourself!

Some things I really enjoyed about the book is that Chloe loves to bake pies!  Kerry Winfrey, the author, has a love for baking pies, too!  Ms. Winfrey also wrote a blog called A Year of Romantic Comedies in which she watched and reviewed 52+ romantic comedies in one year.  So after you finish reading Kerry’s two books, you can watch some of the rom-coms she reviewed!  She is also working on a third romantic comedy novel.  I can hardly wait!
