Book Review—Party of Two by Jasmine Guillory

I can’t believe that I read The Party of Two and did not have a piece of chocolate cake! Chocolate cake is a focal point of this cute contemporary romance by Jasmine Guillory. The fifth book in The Wedding Date series, The Party of Two is the story of Olivia Monroe, who recently moved to LA to open a law firm with her colleague and friend, Ellie.

Olivia stays at at hotel while waiting to move into her apartment and decides to have dinner at the bar.  Seated at the bar is an attractive man and they begin a conversation.  Olivia lets her guard down and is a little flirty in the conversation.  Max, the handsome man an the bar, finds Olivia fascinating.

Fast forward...Olivia finds out that Max is none other than California’s junior senator, Max Powell.  When a chocolate cake arrives at Olivia’s office with a sweet message from Max, she decides to go out with him.    But, does Olivia want to date a politician? Can this relationship be successful with Max jetting often to Washington, D.C. and Olivia just opening her law practice?

Buy a slice of chocolate cake right now and start reading! You won’t be disappointed!  (I may be buying myself a slice after writing the review!)
