The day has finally arrived!! Everyday Dinners is here! The highly anticipated cookbook arrived on my doorstep yesterday—ONE DAY EARLY! If you follow me, you know that one of my favorite bloggers is Jessica Merchant from How Sweet Eats. Her recipes are amazing! I have showcased many through the years from her blog and her two prior cookbooks, Seriously Delish and The Pretty Dish. But let me tell you—Everyday Dinners is in a class of its own!
First of all, Jessica has created the most scrumptious recipes I have ever seen. Each recipe is accompanied by a photo, a la Jessica’s beautiful styling. This cookbook focuses on dinners, hence the title Everyday Dinners, and meal prep. Each recipe contains a 10-minute meal prep that you can do ahead of time! Genius! You must read the Introduction that explains Jessica’s cooking philosophy and how she does her meal prep. She gives many tips and secrets to her cooking success. She tells you what she considers essential items in your fridge and pantry. There is even a section on how to get your children to love vegetables! The contents are broken down into these sections:
- Sauces and Dressings (You will never buy bottled dressing again!)
- Meatless Meals (How does Chipotle and Beer Two-Bean Vegetarian Chili sound?)
- Poultry (Sheet Pan Cashew Chicken—Are you kidding me?)
- Pork (Sticky, Saucy Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Chipotle Corn Salad—To die for!)
- Beef—(Seared Steakhouse Salad with Potatoes and Greens—Just a work of art!)
- Seafood—(Bang Bang Salmon Burgers —Anything with bang bang and I’m sold!)
- Side Dishes—(Chipotle, Bacon, Blue Cheese Brussels Sprouts—Making this tonight!)
I can honestly say that I am so inspired to cook after looking through Everyday Dinners! I know you will be, too!
Enjoy!!
