Book Review—Very Sincerely Yours by Kerry Winfrey

I have enjoyed Kerry Winfrey’s books ever since I read Waiting for Tom Hanks in 2019 and Not Like the Movies in 2020. (My reviews are linked.) Very Sincerely Yours is no exception. Published in 2021, this contemporary romance novel seeks to answer the question, “What do you want to do with your life?”

Teddy Phillips works at a vintage toy store and was recently dumped by her longtime boyfriend. To help with her solace, she watches Everett’s Place, a children’s tv show hosted by local talent, Everett St. James. Since Everett gives such heartfelt advice to children on the show, Teddy decides to write to him for help on what to do with her life. They begin a funny and sweet e-mail correspondence.

This is a cute book with a lot of laughs, especially with Teddy trying new things all the time. Both characters experience growth in character throughout the novel. This book would especially be of interest to anyone living in Columbus, Ohio, the story’s setting. There are many references to the city. Also, if you are trying to answer the question, “What do you want to do with your life?” this book would be a fun read for you.
