These cherry hand held pies were so much fun to make! I’ve been seeing so many people using puff pastry to make tarts, pastries, etc., I decided it was time that I try.
The recipe I used was from Simple Cherry Pastry Pies. This recipe was perfect for a beginner using puff pastry. There are many photos that show exactly how to cut the pastry using a pizza cutter. This recipe called for basic rectangular shaped pies, so that was a simple way to start. The filling was delicious! I used fresh cherries. Definitely get a cherry pitter to use.
As you can see from the photo, the cherry hand held pies were golden brown in color. They were so delicious, and they freeze well. I am definitely going to use puff pastry again in the future!
