Have you watched The Great British Bake Off? The Golden Spoon by Jessa Maxwell is a spin on The Great British Bake Off. Held in an estate in Grafton, Vermont, six contestants compete for ‘The Golden Spoon’. There is a cast of characters that includes the owner of the estate and the host.
The author does a great job with the characters in the book. We, as readers, find out so much about them, before, during and after the competitions. Maxwell also builds the plot little-by-little so that the reader becomes more and more enthralled with the story.
If you like baking competition shows or just want to read a solid suspenseful thriller, The Golden Spoon is one you won’t want to miss.
