Author Terri Parlato brings back the character of Detective Rita Myers in her newest novel, What Waits in the Woods. This thriller introduces Esmé Foster who is returning to her hometown of Graybridge, Massachusetts after an 11-year career as a ballerina. Sadly upon her return, Esmé’s best friend is found murdered in the woods behind Esmé’s childhood home.
This novel is told by both Esmé and Detective Rita Myers. It is heavy on police procedural work as Detective Myers strives to solve the murder among many suspects.
Terri Parlato has another hit on her hands after her debut novel, All the Dark Places. I will look forward to more of her work.
